Oh, How Blessed Am I

My family gave me the best birthday ever. Everyone kept asking me what I wanted but I knew it was too expensive. Then it hit me!! Game Night! The look on their faces was precious. This isn't what they expected at all. You should have seen it. All jaws dropped, heads down and eyes wide open. What!? You're kidding, right? They didn't like it at all.

Andrea said, "That's not a present!" I told that that's what I wanted and it's cheap. Josh said that he liked to play games and he was all for it. He asked me what we should play and I said, Canasta! I love this game.

After everyone got the hang of canasta we had lots of fun. We laughed sometimes until we cried and then laughed some more....What a good time.

Hey Kae,
Those kinds of gifts actually are "priceless!" Happy Birthday to you.
Ummmm........I know exactly where Natchez is.
I LOOOOOOVE Natchez!!! I've been trying to plan a weekend getaway to there for months but it hasn't worked out. It's only about 2 hours away and we really love that area. It's changed alot sadly. They've lost alot of the industry there and the economy thing hasn't helped at all. It's mainly tourism that keeps the town going so you can imagine how bad it's being hit right now.

IF I had to move out of Baton Rouge..and had to stay in LA...I would go north to St. Francisville or to Natchez. I love that area and it's so nice and hilly.
I do want to get up there soon.

How did you all get so far North? HA!! I'm from Iowa...but I couldn't go live there any more. Although I miss ALL my family dearly.

My parents are getting older and we've had drama with that this year. And one of my sister's just had a baby at 29 weeks along and that's trauma.
And last night WE just had one of our nephews get into a bad accident last night (hit by a semi on the Interstate) and he needs prayer....he's in ICU in our town of Council Bluffs Ia. These are the times I wish I were back home. Sadly I won't be able to get up there till summer probably.

Happy belated birthday! I love that gift. I like to play games too and Bob really doesn't so it doesn't happen often. The goofy picture is priceless.
PS - I see it worked - nice post!

I think that's an excellent idea. I'm always happy to fine blogs of moms with teenagers.

That is so great! I love that idea. I know for a fact you and they will remember this far more than had they gotten you a "normal" present!
So glad you had a good Birthday.

This sounds like something I would like because I so enjoy playing card games (think I inherited that from my Irish grandfather). Your blog is nice and friendly...now you've inspired me to post some of our goofy pictures.

God bless you,

Marcy

It sounds like you had a wonderful time...Happy Birthday.

Kae...you're NOT going to believe it, I went to make out your mailing label for your TEACUP, so it could go out this morning...and the email you sent me with your address, somehow got deleted! I don't have your address!!! Please, re-send it...I promise, as soon as I get it, I'll make the label and send the package on it's way.

Kae...

I just noticed that you put your ADDRESS in your comments. If I were you I would DELETE them right now...and keep them out of PUBLIC VIEW. You never know who's looking. (If I'd noticed this sooner, I certainly would have said something before now. I just don't check other people's comments after I've left my comment...for a reply to it!)

I hope you're enjoying your new TEACUP and will be posting about it soon!
