I'm Here Today:)

Hello My Fellow Bloggers!!! I've been on and off my blog lately and I've been so happy to see that some of my old friends are still here. I'm not sure just how often I'll be posting but I told Tom (my husband) that I was here the other day and it was exciting. The pictures are still beautiful and the the same sweet people are still here along with some new ones. I have news to share, some good and some bad but nothing I haven't been able to get through. I hope all have a very nice spring and summer......Kae

Hey There!!!

Hello,
I know that I've been gone way too long but I'm back at least for today...just being honest:) A lot has happened in my life in last few months. Some not so good and some not good at all however, God is still with me and I'm going to be me. I have a quote that I ran across the other day and thought you might like it:

"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind". Dr. Seuss

Have a wonderful day friends and remember your blessings....K

Learning is a Never Ending Journey

The older I get the more I learn about myself. Even tho I don't want to ever get rid of anything I am learning that the more I hold on to, the harder it is to let go. My relationship with my Mom has always been a strained one and I never understood why. I want everyone to be absolutely certain and without a doubt that I love Mother!!! However, I can only like her as much as she will let me. There's that learning thing...as much as she will let me... She's never been very forgiving, loving, happy or friendly for that matter.

I like being happy!!!! ;o) That's where the learning comes in. I can't live to please someone that doesn't want to be pleased. I have learned to surround myself with people and things that make ME happy.

Forgiveness is not pretending it didn't happen; It is letting go and learning to live freely.

Hello

Hello everyone, It's here and I'm loving every minute of it. Someone gave me a lot of Tiger Lillies so I planted them, I dug up Black-eyed Susans and planted some behind the mailbox. The big question is, "where are we going to plant the garden?" Does anybody have a problem with wild strawberries? I have them everywhere! I can't seem to get rid of them so I'll just keep on yanking.

The chickens are growing and the ducks are HUGE now. We have some pictures of them but like I said, I haven't downloaded them yet....in fact I can't find the wire it requires to download them.....it seems I've misplaced (or thrown them away) I hope not.

Speaking of pictures I spent a couple of hours with Kylee last Fri. We had so much fun. She's talking more, so it makes communicating with her easier. A few times in the past she didn't recognize me but this time she did and we a great time....Oh, what a Blessing that little girl is. I'll be going now and getting back to digging in the dirt.

Thanks Nancy

I was reading around on the latest post and saw that one of my friends hasn't had much to say lately but wanted to let everyone know that she's still around.....Great idea Nancy. I'm still here too and like Nancy said just reading and going from blog to blog is a lot of fun. You should try it sometime, you would be surprised to see how many interesting people there are out there...I like to say they're just as wierd as me...or does that mean I'm normal? Don't answer that!!!! Anyway there's much to tell and I'll be back soon............thank you to all who have been faithful, Kae

Spring Break

Hi everyone, It certainly has been a long time since I posted. So much has happened, Brianna is in the choir and she just got back from FL at 10:30 last night. The band went too. The pictures are cute. I'm not sure if anyone has ever heard of a rapper named TI but she was behind him in line for something and that's when she yelled, TI, hey is that really you, can I get my picture with you? Now you have to know that I personally hate rapping, rappers anything rapping...uhg.

I've been taking care of her ducks while she was gone. They've gotten soooo big. I'm afraid they've gotten too big for their tub and I don't what to do. It's still too cold to let them go swim in the pond. I'll figure something out. Bri owes me big time!

Our friend that has cancer is having colostomy surgery and we are praying that he makes it through it.

I hope that everyone has a great Easter!!!! Kae

Prayers

Photobucket
Hello everyone, I've had so much with my chickens and the ducks are just a riot! I've the little plastic swimming pool out and filled it up with water. You should see those ducks dive and paddle around with those great big webbed feet. I'll post a video that Andrea took with them in the pool...

I am asking for prayers for a family friend that has just been diagnosed with cancer. The family is devestated and we were shocked. He hasn't decided if he will have chemo and radiation. Dr. asked him if he wanted this or hospice! He was raised in a good christian home and married a good christian women. He is on many prayer list with the area churches and I would appreciate one or two for him and family.....never too many prayers. Thank you, Kae

Picking Up Where I Left Off

I've been lacking in my "Quotes" lately and I have found some that I think you might like:

"It's about how we want to live our lives, not for longer lives"
Author Unkown

I believe the message here was, life isn't always about quantity but more about quality. I've found that to be very uplifting.

Someone offered me a Dove Dark Chocolate candy the other day and since I don't buy these I wasn't aware of the Promise Message inside the wrapper......Think without Boundaries. I think I'll be buying more of these only because of the Promise Message.....right!?

The milk chocolate candy's wrapper said, Think of every day as a Sunday. Yes, I'm definitely certain I need more chocolate....hehehe! We can all use more Sundays.......Have a wonderful Saturday everybody!!!

Duck & Chicken Ranchers

Yes, you read that right. Tom took Brianna to the farm
supply store and they came home with these two ducks.
They are the cutest little things and we've been having a lot
of fun. Brianna cleans up after them and gives them baths
every day. It's fun when she puts them in the bathtub for a
bath. They swim around paddling those little webbed feet
going back and forth. Brianna has named them Donald and
Daisy. I don't know which one is which but Brianna does.

The chickens are mine. I've wanted chickens for a long time so
I went down and bought myself some. There are 2 Rhode Island
Reds and 1 Bantum somethingoranother. I've named each of them.
One of the Reds is named Rhoda, the other is Timmy. The
Banty(rooster) is called The Banty. Although these names can and will be changed in an instant.
If and when they start eating my flowers they will be called
Breakfast, Lunch and Supper!!

See how the little one is under Rhoda, he stays under or
between those two most of the time. I didn't realize just
how mean they can be. Sometimes they stand in the food
dish and won't let the little one eat.
It doesn't take a lot to entertain us, I've always that I'm
a cheap date. Just buy me chickens!

Let's Play

Photobucket

Let's Play!!

My friend Chel at Abiding Branch, http://abidingbranch@blogspot.com is playing a game that I want to play along with. Here are the rules:

It's open to anyone who reads my blog and anyone who happens upon along. Everyone is welcome.

The first five (5) people to respond to this post will get something bought or made by me!! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations.

1) I make no guarantee that you will like what I buy or make.

2)What I choose will be just for you.

3) It will be done this calendar year. I will try to make it long before 12\31\09.

4) You have no idea what it's going to be.

5) I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. I would never send something offensive or that I wouldn't like myself.

The catch???? Yes the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and make the same offer to the first (5) people who respond to your blog entry, thereby continuing the fun.

The first (5) people who do so and leave a comment telling me they did, will win a FABULOUS gift from me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it. So, LET'S PLAY!!!!!

A Gift and Nature!!!

A few weeks ago I got a comment from Jan at Rose Havenhttp://jt-jantom.blogspot.com that I had won a teacup from a drawing that I entered on her sight. Oh how exciting, I signed up every week hoping I would win and telling myself that if I didn't win that would O.K. to. I would just keep signing up every week until I won, doggonit. I didn't have to wait too long and when I saw that I won, well, let's just say I did a little jig until everybody came from all over the house. They were just as excited as I was.

I finally found a place to take a decent picture of it. Because my house has a lot of sunshine which throws off lots of glares in it. The cup and saucer is a pale yellow it didn't show very well. My daughter suggested the pool table which has dark green felt and it worked !!! Thank you Andrea. My husband wants to know if I drink the tea do I drink it from my new teacup?

Since yesterday was a gorgeous day we decided to go for a walk. Tom, Brianna, Nicole(Bri's friend) and me went to Pigeon Creek Park. I had never been there but Tom grew up in this area and knew it very well. The girls have been sledding here and know the park too. I love being outside when the weather is warmer and heaven knows that I need the exercise. We gave the girls the cameras and said, "Go for it." I must say they did a great job. Yep, that's us . I commended Bri on getting my best side...hehehe. Nicole and Brianna have been friends since the kindergarten and this hasn't changed. We love Nicole almost as much as Brianna and it's the same at Nicoles house.

They have turned into a couple of beautiful girls... and we have so many pictures of them together. To get them both to smile at the same time is tricky tho. How do you like Bri's PINK hair ;) ;( :[ ;-o) It's only hair right and she's not any different than any of the rest of us. Never happy with what we have. I did this for her BECAUSE I can then keep it under control. (When she did it herself it was 3 colors.) Ain't life good!!!

Nicole found this birds nest. When she did she yelled, "awwww!!" Brianna came running and said,"aawww!!" Then, all together now----"AAWWWW!!!" These aawww's sound as if we were to see a brand new baby....yeah, sing it. ;) Out of absolutely nowhere Tom came along and kicked it like he was kicking a field goal...Then I sang "aawwwww" that was mean!!! Do they ever grow up? LOL

We had a lot of fun and promised to go back next week.. I'm looking forward to it.......

Blessings to you,

Kae

Finally, I'm Back ;)

Photobucket

Hello everybody, I've been missing and now I'm back....Ohh so much to tell....I won a teacup from Jan at Rose Haven and can't wait to post that. I've taken pictures of it and they don't turn out too good. The teacup is a pale yellow and my house is too light for the yellow to show up. Any suggestions? Brianna turned "16" last Thursday, the same day that Grandpa turned "79."

I've changed medicine for fibromyalgia and I hope it works better.

So many things to talk about but still too painful and just not ready to share at the moment. I'm going to keep thinking and posting all things nice and pleasant or I'm not posting at all....(That was meant to sound like a brat) hehehe.

Today I'm going outside to clean gardens and the yard...It's beautiful outside and I love it.........Have a great day my blogging buddies.....Kae

Oh, How Blessed Am I

My family gave me the best birthday ever. Everyone kept asking me what I wanted but I knew it was too expensive. Then it hit me!! Game Night! The look on their faces was precious. This isn't what they expected at all. You should have seen it. All jaws dropped, heads down and eyes wide open. What!? You're kidding, right? They didn't like it at all.

Andrea said, "That's not a present!" I told that that's what I wanted and it's cheap. Josh said that he liked to play games and he was all for it. He asked me what we should play and I said, Canasta! I love this game.

After everyone got the hang of canasta we had lots of fun. We laughed sometimes until we cried and then laughed some more....What a good time.

She Makes Me Smile :-)

I was messing around with some pictures and decided that I liked the collages. I made this one of Kylee(my granddaughter) and I'm sending it to some family members. These are a few of my favorite pictures of her at different ages. She makes me smile...

"Hot Warning Signs"

Dr. Phil's list of "Hot Warning Signs" that your can use to determine whether or not a family member is possibly headed for a crisis.

  1. Endangering self or others: Begins to taken action toward a plan, such as harming themselves stockpiling guns, poison or sleeping pills. Has trouble sleeping. Isolate themselves ( running away, dropping out of school, etc.)

  2. Depression: Low energy. High feelings of worthlessness for guilt. Thoughts of suicide.

  3. High Stress: Intense fear, helplessness or horror. Poor concentration. Sleeping problems.

  4. Drug Abuse: Change of friends, new best friends uses drugs. Careless about personal appearance. Lying. Missing money. Discovery of pipes, rolling papers, medicine bottles, butane lighters or other drug paraphernalia. Gangs and Violence: Is obsessed with particular clothing attire. Truancy/tardy records. Shows of evidence of physical injuries but lies about causes. Produces unexplained cash, clothing, music CD's.

Remember not all of these apply in every situation. Go to- drphil.com - The name of that days show is "Growing Up Too Fast"

It's never too late to show love to our children. These warning signs was a wake up call for me We cannot ignore behaviors that seem strange or different to us. There are many more signs on Dr. Phil's list. I believe that God intended for the parents He chose for these children to do a much, much better job of raising His children than we are.

Changes

Since the last post there have been some serious changes in our home. I know that with God's help I am stronger but for me trick is to stay strong. We are in family counsoling which has been beneficial to me and Tom. Brianna, on the other hand isn't agreeing with any of it. Here's where my work begins. We ave always given in to her tantrums and this has been our biggest mistake. Her idea of these changes are like flipping a pancake!!! But we always ler know what has to change and we ask how she feels about it. You guessed it--she doesn't like it one bit. I can see how she is confused between what has to happen and what is going to happen.

I have cleaned out her room and bathroom and these rooms are now in my charge. I'm not asking for her to do her share of chores anymore. If I have to clean it then I will throw away whatever I want. thing. I'm throwing away most of her shirts and I'm going shopping to buy her clothes. She's aready feeling the pinch of consequences and how they are affecting her social life. When I read Dr. Phil's list of "Hot Warning Signs" well lets just say, I was astounded, scared and down right mad! What have I done? I've prayed and prayed and have seen the signs God has given me. I will go with my heart and be the parent He wants me to be............

By the way.....the quote for today is: I'm not interested in power for power's sake, but I'm interested in power that is moral, that is right and that is good. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
